BIO
Originally from Argentina, Esteban Argüello is a director/editor working and living in Los Angeles. Recently he has edited a number of successful documentaries including Amazon Gold for the Clinton Global Initiative, Give Us Your Retired, Your Rich, Your Americans directed by Anayansi Prado, and Bhutto directed by Jessica Hernandez and John O'hara which premiered at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival. In addition to documentaries, Esteban has worked on a variety of narrative films and TV shows such as Bomb It, Karma Calling, The mun2 Hookup, House, and Numb3rs. He has also won awards for his editing work on August 15th directed by Jiang Xuan, a short film that was an official selection of the 2008 Sundance Film Festival and 2008 Cannes Cinéfondation.
In his personal work Esteban loves to explore socially conscious subject matter. His latest short film The Plaza explores the complicated events surrounding the burial of famous Argentina unionist Agustin Tosco. He is also especially influenced by magic realism and monster movies. His zombie film Margaret's Son screened at various domestic and international film festivals, and his undergraduate thesis video How the Walls Fell Down... was a finalist for the Michael S. Roif Award at the University of Massachusetts. Currently Esteban is developing a TV pilot that was optioned by Homerun Entertainment and working on Salsedo, his upcoming first feature film.
